  • Course Title: Consumer Protection Law Essentials: FDCPA, FCRA & Court Procedures.

  • Prerequisites: Reading, and wrighting 4th grade  level

 

Learning Objectives

 

Upon completion of this course, you'll be able to:

  • FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act): Understand the prohibitions on abusive, unfair, and deceptive debt collection practices. You'll learn the rules for communicating with consumers, the proper procedures for debt validation, and how to handle disputes and attorney representation.

  • FRCA (Fair Credit Reporting Act): Grasp the principles of fair and accurate credit reporting. The course will cover consumer rights regarding credit reports, the responsibilities of credit reporting agencies and furnishers, and the proper handling of disputes.

  • Court Procedures: Gain a foundational understanding of the legal process involved in consumer law cases, including an overview of the court system, filing procedures, and what to expect during litigation.
